Julia Booth was appointed Honorary Consul of Bhutan in Sydney for New South Wales in December 2023.

The Honorary Consul of Bhutan in Sydney, for New South Wales, is an extension of the Royal Bhutanese Embassy in Canberra. The Honorary Consul strengthens networks and the Embassy’s reach, promoting the interests of Bhutan.

I have been involved with Bhutan from the age of 19. I believe deeply in this unique and extraordinary country. I am honoured to hold the position of Honorary Consul. I believe the Honorary Consul role is essential for developing stronger relations between Bhutan and Australia and increasing commercial and cultural ties; enabling better trade, tourism, and investment promotion.

The Honorary Consul of Bhutan in Sydney has jurisdiction throughout New South Wales.

This is an exciting opportunity to enrich the strong heritage between Bhutan and New South Wales, particularly the New England Area which has been host to many Bhutanese students since the 1980s.

In this position, my highest priority is to serve. I enjoy working closely with the Bhutanese Community.

You are very welcome to contact me.

With thanks and Tashi Delek.
